Boathouse and boat shelter made to measure

Boathouse made to measure for your boat and mooring

A custom boathouse protects your boat from rain, wind, sun, dirt and other weather. Choose from different systems, depending on your boat and mooring.

No obligation, and tailored to your boat and mooring.

Which boathouse suits my situation?

No two moorings are the same. That is why DutchBoatHouse works with different systems.

Less cleaning, less maintenance

A boathouse protects your boat from the effects of wind and weather. Sun, rain, leaves and other dirt have less chance to get at it, so you spend less time on cleaning and maintenance and there is less wear.

Our boathouses are made to measure in our own production facility and installed by our own installation team. Do you have a jetty on both sides, a single bank, or neighbours with boats beside you? There is a suitable system for every mooring.

Want to protect your boat below the waterline as well? Combine the boathouse with a boat lift.

Questions about your boathouse

How do I protect my boat from the weather?

A boat that stays outside for long periods has to deal with rain, sun, wind, dirt, leaves and fouling. That means more cleaning, more maintenance and, over time, more wear. A custom boathouse protects your boat from rain, wind, sun, dirt and other weather. Which system fits depends on your boat and mooring; we will discuss with you which solution fits.

What does a boathouse protect against?

With a boathouse you protect your boat from above: sun, rain, leaves and other dirt have less chance to get at it, and your boat does not turn green in wind and weather. The boathouse can be fitted with a lock. Want to protect your boat below the waterline as well? Then combine the boathouse with a boat lift.

Which boathouse suits my mooring?

That depends on your boat and the layout of your mooring. A fully floating system is supported entirely by the water. A shore-to-floating system is supported by the shore and by floats. A shore-to-shore system has a quay or jetty on both sides. We will discuss with you which solution fits.

What is a boathouse made of?

Our systems are mainly made of aluminium. Aluminium is light, strong, durable and stands up well to the conditions around the water. The fabric is mainly Bisonyl, and boathouses longer than 11 metres get HDPE floats. Finish and specification can also be tailored.

How large can a boathouse be?

Because every boathouse is custom-made, there are no fixed minimum or maximum dimensions. We determine the structure based on, among other things, the dimensions and weight of your boat, the space available and the situation on site. We also determine the entry height for each situation, based on the height of your boat, any superstructure and the desired clearance.

What does my mooring need for a boathouse?

A stable and suitable mooring is important for good operation and a long service life of the system. For installation we look at the condition and construction of the bank revetment, the water depth, the normal and fluctuating water level, the accessibility of the location, the space available for installation and the options for fixing and anchoring. As the owner, you are in principle responsible for a sound bank revetment.

Does a boathouse also help against fouling?

Yes, against fouling on the outside. A boat lying outdoors in wind and weather turns green; under a boathouse it is protected from this. Against fouling from the water, below the waterline, a boat lift helps: it takes the boat out of the water. Both solutions can be combined.

Can I combine a boathouse with a boat lift?

Yes. A boathouse with an integrated boat lift combines protection from above with taking your boat out of the water. The boathouse protects against weather and dirt; the lift limits long-term exposure to the water and helps reduce fouling.

What does the process from enquiry to installation look like?

First we discuss your boat, mooring and wishes. Then we measure the situation and determine the technical options. Next, we match the design and production to your location. Our team installs the boathouse and/or boat lift, after which the system is ready to use.

What is the delivery time and how long does installation take?

The delivery time depends on the chosen system, the dimensions, any custom parts and our current planning. Because we manufacture and assemble many parts ourselves, we can carry out projects flexibly. Installation time also varies per project: a complete boathouse takes more time than a standard boat lift. We agree the planning and the necessary preparations with you in advance.

What warranty do I get on my system?

DutchBoatHouse offers a 5-year warranty on boathouses and a 3-year warranty on boat lifts. With a combination, each part has its own warranty period. The warranty covers defects that are demonstrably the result of a material or manufacturing fault. Damage caused by, for example, incorrect use, collision, overloading, insufficient maintenance, modifications by third parties, an unsound base or bank revetment, or storms is not automatically covered. The exact warranty conditions are set out in our general terms and conditions.
